About Tim Tebow

Timothy Richard Tebow (; born August 14, 1987) is an American former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for three seasons, most notably with the Denver Broncos. Tebow played college football for the Florida Gators, where he became the first underclassman to win the Heisman Trophy and led the team to two BCS National Championship titles in 2007 and 2009. At the conclusion of his collegiate career, he held the Southeastern Conference's records for career passing efficiency and rushing touchdowns. Tebow was inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame in 2023.
Selected by the Broncos in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, Tebow became their starter during the 2011 season. His tenure revitalized a struggling team, bringing the franchise its first division title and playoff win since 2005 by leading the Broncos to a series of dramatic comeback victories, often after not performing very well earlier in the game. He became a cultural phenomenon during his time in Denver due to his late game heroics, his outspoken Christian faith, and his habit of dropping to one knee in prayer on the field, a practice which became known as "Tebowing". However, questions over Tebow's long-term future as an NFL quarterback resulted in an off-season trade to the New York Jets, where he spent one year as a backup.
After failing to make the regular season roster of the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles over the following seasons, Tebow pursued a minor league baseball career with the New York Mets organization from 2016 to 2021. The same year he retired from baseball, he returned to the NFL as a tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but was released after one preseason game.
Tebow first appeared as a guest college football analyst for the SEC Network (SECN) in 2014. Since 2017, he has been a regular contributor and co-host for college football programming on SECN and ESPN and has occasionally appeared on other programs on various ABC networks.
