Arijit Singh (Bengali pronunciation: [ɔrid͡ʒit ʃiŋho]; born 25 April 1987) is an Indian playback singer, composer and music producer. A leading figure in contemporary Hindi film music, he is the recipient of several accolades including two National Film Awards and seven Filmfare Awards. Singh is widely considered as one of the greatest singers in the history of Indian Music and Hindi Cinema. He was conferred the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2025.
Singh began his career when he participated in the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005. He made his Hindi cinema debut in 2011 with the song "Phir Mohabbat" for the film Murder 2. He received wider recognition with the release of "Tum Hi Ho" from Aashiqui 2 in 2013, which earned him his first Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer.
