Emil Mihai Cioran (Romanian: [eˈmil tʃoˈran] , French: [emil sjɔʁɑ̃]; 8 April 1911 – 20 June 1995) was a Romanian philosopher, aphorist and essayist, who published works in both Romanian and French.
